Hybrid Forms

Deforestation

The Hybrid Forms project challenged me to have a new and different approach, thinking in an “outside the box” manner. This approach helped me be environmentally conscious as I chose to play with recycled and recyclable materials, in order to emphasize the importance of protecting the environment in everything we do. I felt that through my art I can make a change by informing my audience about this serious issue, deforestation.  Taking this into consideration, my unique selling point is not only represented by the use of recycled material, but also by my product packaging that contains a moon paper with tree seeds, being detachable from the package, for you to plant it in a pot and take care of your tree, in order to help the environment by participating in the afforestation process. I have symbolically positioned my lamp in a “Moon Forest” in the hope that we will be responsible enough to stop deforestation and live beautiful. The project offered me the opportunity to create an eco sustainable and environmentally friendly object which can bring a change to our life.

My story character represents a dreamer.
People are human beings that live through stories at any age. Stories help us to grow, to see the magic in little things, to hope, to project our dreams to the future and to fill the empty spaces between us.
I created this character as I consider that the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. With their head in the clouds and stories in their soul, those are the people who have the courage to escape, changing the reality and building the future.
The lamp spreads a diffused, warm and decorative light. In its final form, the object has the ability to arouse interest, to draw attention and change the state of mind by giving the feeling of uniqueness.

Technique: Papier-mâché
