New Consciousness
The New Consciousness project challenged me to make two completely different posters in terms of realization, on the same topic, the pollution of disposable face masks.
I chose to make an illustration as sensitive as the topic, choosing to destroy it in the end in order to raise awareness about this irreversible problem. The technique I used is watercolor, being in my opinion one of the most sensitive and expressive techniques.
About 50 trillion microplastic particles are currently floating in water bodies, which are taken as food and ingested by animals. These microplastic particles end up on our tables in the form of food and water. On average, we consume weekly 5 grams of plastic- the equivalent of two disposable face masks.
I chose to work digital, using Photoshop, in order to combine the image of the engraved disposable face masks and the circle with the slogan “What goes around, comes around”, a vicious circle, which can be interpreted as a plate but also as our earth.
Bon appétit- two simple words, known by everyone, with a powerful impact.
